James Thomas, President of Ambient Consulting, was looking for a custom solution that would allow Solomon users the ability to attach various files types to all of the maintenance screens within Solomon. He approached Plumbline Solutions and requested a quote from the Application Development Consulting Group (ADC) in hopes of finding the “right” solution. Upon advisement from ADC he found that a solution had already been created by another ISV provider, Silverbrook Solutions called Quick Attach which James had just stumbled upon as well. Plumbline’s advice was not to reinvent the wheel as it would take longer to develop and the cost would be higher due to design, development, and testing but to contact Silverbrook. ITWorks contracted with Plumbline Solutions to develop numerous customizations for their customer due to lack of bandwidth within their Development staffing. These customers had implemented many of the advanced distribution modules and were looking to extend their solution. They were looking for multiple data validation checks as well as just extending functionality in specific areas that were limited within Solomon (i.e. Order Management in multiple companies, message prompts for data entry clerks when inaccurate data was being entered, etc.). Plumbline Solutions – Application Development Consulting (ADC) group was able to deliver the customizations and with the partner’s approval deploy the solutions on the customer’s test and production environments in a timely fashion.
