Are Your Government
Contractor Clients Using Dynamics SL to the Fullest?
RSM McGladrey
is a premier value added reseller focused on serving government
contractors who use Microsoft Dynamics SL.
We partner with our clients in meeting both their internal
and external reporting requirements that are critical to managing
operations and projects as well as compliance reporting to various
government agencies.
RSM McGladrey has developed a standard library of
reports to address the specific and unique reporting requirements of
government contractors.
These reports were developed in a format familiar to DCAA auditors,
which may reduce the time and effort required from your internal
staff to prepare these reports during audits.
These reports will also provide invaluable
information related to managing your indirect cost allocations.
Analysis of your provisional and actual indirect rates and
cost allocations by project is critical to understand your true
project costs, and help your organization develop competitive bids
for future contracts.
Included in the library of reports are various
Incurred Cost Submission reports to include:
Schedule H Summary, Schedule H, Schedule H-1, Schedule I,
Schedule K and Schedule O.
In
The CALIBRE Case Study,
CALIBRE recently implemented RSM McGladrey’s report libraries.
CALIBRE saved countless hours preparing their incurred cost
submission reports to DCAA, improved management of their indirect
costs, and provided the ability for their organization to
collaborate on mission critical contract and project information
through various project summaries and supporting reports.
For more information about how RSM McGladrey’s
Microsoft Dynamics SL professionals can help you meet your client’s
federal contract reporting requirements, contact Tom Burtner at

Error attempting to launch Dynamics SL
If you receive an “accessviolationexception” error while attempting
to launch Dynamics SL, it may be due to a problem encountered
after.NET 3.5 gets installed on a workstation which runs Dynamics SL
7.0 or 7.0 Service Pack 1.
Reported as bug 17220 by Microsoft, a hotfix has been made available
on
CustomerSource and
PartnerSource for the Dynamics SL 7.0 Service Pack 1 version.
The bug is also corrected in Dynamics SL 7.0 Service Pack 2 and
Feature Pack 1. If applying the hotfix, it is important to note that
it needs installed at both the server and on each workstation.
Unknown Server Error Using Report Scheduler in Business
Portal
If you receive "GetReportOptions failed. Error info=
<Server : Unknown server error>" when trying to use the Report
Scheduler in Business Portal for Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 Feature
Pack 1 (FP1), you may need to reinstall the SL client. This error
occurs if Business Portal is installed without first installing the
Microsoft Dynamics SL client on the business portal server. If the
Microsoft Dynamics SL client is not installed on the BP server or if
the client is installed after installing BP, then the report
scheduler page will not work. More details about this problem and
resolution can be found on
CustomerSource and
PartnerSource.
Hot Keys for tabs not supported in SL 7.0
.NET, unlike VB6, does not support hot-keys on tabs (the underline
letter for the tab). It could be done with special coding, but that
extra work has not been done for the SL application, to the best of
our knowledge.
Meaningful Marketing
By being obvious about the benefit customers will receive
by using your products or services, your chance of sales can
increase 75%! Using broad, indirect marketing messaging is more
likely than ever to be ignored, given the communication bombardment
facing the work force today. Just like resumes need to quickly
capture the interest of hiring personnel, your marketing materials
need to have precise, overt messaging that customers can relate to
quickly.
