Greetings!
If you attended Microsoft's Worldwide Partner Conference (WPC) in
New Orleans last month, hopefully we were able to connect. As a
quick update for those unable to attend, key announcements included
Windows 7, Windows 2008 R2 and Office 2010, and the unveiling of the
new Partner Program, called the
Microsoft Partner
Network. In Steve Balmer's general session (where he was
captivating and entertaining, as usual!), Steve talked about his
view on the economic future, and how Microsoft's new product
releases will play an important part.
Of course, I attended all of the SL sessions. One of
particular interest was a general session where several Partners
talked about how they approach opportunities, win deals, and partner
with each other. There was also a break-out session for Government
Contracting and Construction.
Now that WPC is past, I've noticed that many of us have employees
using vacation time to relax, enjoy the weather and spend time with
family before the back to school rush starts. If you find you
are short-staffed and need some additional help getting projects
completed on time - give me a call. We can talk about how you
can leverage Plumbline's resources to keep your business on track.
Best Regards,
Todd Michael

Dynamics User Group SL Fall Conference
Join the SL User Group for their annual conference in sunny San
Diego on September 16th through 18th! This year’s event will
be the best yet! The agenda has been updated to include an IT and
finance track to provide more than 40 sessions and roundtables. There will also be ISV showcases!
During an interview with Carolyn Blaylock, Vice President of the
Dynamics User Group SL, she offered this insight about the event:
"Attending
the Dynamics Users Group SL Fall Conference provides customers with
real world experience and solutions.
Attendees have the opportunity to hear from other
customers about how they use SL to meet their most challenging
business issues and learn tricks & tips to simplify their daily
jobs.
You can use networking opportunities to forge connections with
customers that have similar business issues and stay in contact with
them year round to troubleshoot problems or brainstorm solutions.
Even the most competent users can up their game by
understanding how other companies apply technologies and extract
critical data to run their business successfully. Unlike
Convergence, which provides good high level learning about new
platforms and solutions that integrate with SL, our 2-day conference
arms customers with detailed learning that has a positive impact on
both the attendee and their organization."

SQL Server
Compatibility
You can now use SQL Server compatibility
mode 90 with your Microsoft Dynamics SL databases.
Compatibility mode 80 is still supported and remains the
default mode for new or upgraded databases created by
Database Maintenance (98.290.00). However, this feature
pack is the last release in which compatibility mode 80 is
the default. SQL Server
compatibility mode 100 is not currently supported. [Read

SSRS Formula "Cheat Sheet"
Need help with creating SSRS formulas? Don Shields with
ClientsFirst-US has compiled a list of formulas and reference sites

Resizing PVs
Ever have difficulty resizing an existing possible values
window - and keeping the changes intact?
We found this tip on the Solomon Partner Forum:
If you manually enter the pvleft, pvwidth, pvheight, and pvtop
properties in the customized field in a CST file, and then reimport
the CST file, the PV for that field can be resized and the settings
will be saved when the screen is closed.
