Having problems with partially released batches?
Starting with Microsoft Dynamics
SL 6.5, in some instances you can edit partially released Financial batches by
accessing them in the entry screen while in Initialize Mode. This is
especially helpful with resolving out of balance batches that will not release.
To edit a partially released Financials batch, enter Initialize Mode by going to
Application Options |
Initialize Mode on the Microsoft
Dynamics SL toolbar. Next, open the entry screen where the partially
released batch originated. With the cursor in the
Batch
Number field, press F3 to locate and
select the partially released batch. Note - Depending upon the access rights of
the user that is logged into Microsoft Dynamics SL, it may be necessary to log
in as the user SYSADMIN, to be able to enter Initialize Mode.
Do you need to check a setting in the Solomon.ini file, but are unsure of where
to find it?

to find the files for various SL versions.

Are you making backups?“Shortness
of breath, intense feelings of dread, nausea - no, it's not a heart
attacked. It's the realization that your hard drive just died.
If your IT team is unable to bring the computer back to live, the
only option is to send the drive to a data recovery service, which
can charge anywhere from several hundred to several thousand dollars
to rescue your file - if they are recoverable. We all know the
moral: Back up your hard drive often, and use online services
such as Mozy, iBackup, or EVault. That way, even if a fire
ravages your server room, the data will be fine. You can also use
two drives to store two sets of your data."
