Solution Needs

Cincom had a requirement for a Primary Publishing List web part that was more robust than the one that is standard in Business Portal for Microsoft Dynamics. To address this need, the result viewer functionality had to be enhanced. Unfortunately, Cincom was new to the technology and the product.

Cincom brought Plumbline Solutions in to develop a new web part that would integrate with Cincom’s existing portal application. Plumbline Solution’s experienced developers were able to meet this requirement without Cincom expending additional time or budget to learn the new technology. Customizing for Success

Plumbline Solutions worked with Cincom to design and implement an extensible and expandable Primary Publishing List web part for Business Portal in Microsoft Dynamics that fits all their business needs. This custom result viewer expands built-in queries to make them more dynamic for the user. The new result viewer was extended to include non-viewable columns that allow the user to keep track of important information. Plumbline broadened standard functionality by designing a custom Web service from which the new Primary Publishing List receives its data. A newly-designed public interface allows Cincom developers to easily implement the custom Primary Publishing List and Web service.
