With many returning from Microsoft Convergence 2008 in Orlando, Florida or for those who were unable to attend, Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 FP1 will be a major step towards empowering customers to be more effective in their roles within their company.  Extensive work is being put into the product to deliver the functionality partners and customers need to take advantage of the flexibility of Microsoft Dynamics SL. 

Some of the key additions include:

·     Sortable Grids – Users will have the ability to sort grid area data within Inquiry screens throughout the Microsoft Dynamics SL application.  Being able to quickly sort data within the grids for verification; sort based on dates and amounts; or quickly scan documents based on invoice numbers or descriptions will be useful for making informed decisions.

·     Doc Share – Microsoft Dynamics SL users will be able to leverage the Microsoft SharePoint technologies to store and manage key documents and share them with their employees and customers in an easily manageable and secure structure.  Project proposals, AR and AP invoices, historical Customer invoices can quickly be associated within the Microsoft Dynamics SL product for retrieval.  This will empower users to make decisions in a timely manner with data available in one place.

·     Project Web Time – Users taking advantage of the robust Project modules will consider this as yet another powerful tool in managing and tracking data for their company’s projects.  This new feature will provide the ability to enter and view timecard periods that are greater than 7 days. 

In addition to those exciting new enhancements, many other features will be included in the Microsoft Dynamics SL 7.0 FP1 release.  Project Series users will find increased effectiveness with the Integration with Project Server 2007, as well as the ability to Bill to Maximum by Task.  Financial features include improving the ability to Void and Reissue Payroll checks and Locking Down Prior Period Posting.  Field Service customers will find the strong improvements of the Graphical Dispatch Board (with increased email and filtering capabilities), Prevention of Service Contract with open items, and Concurrent Invoicing to be strong assets to the Microsoft Dynamics SL application.

For those who attended Microsoft Convergence 2008 and filled out at least one (1) evaluation, you will be receiving a DVD from Microsoft containing all of the presentations and Power Points regarding the Microsoft Dynamics SL topics covered as well as the other product presentations.  Those will be shipping from Microsoft within 6 to 8 weeks.
